A star is a celestial body that glows as a result of thermonuclear reactions that occur in it. Stars are mainly made of hydrogen and helium. They are arranged in configurations called constellations. Together with clouds of  intergalactic dust and gas, they form large concentrations – galaxies. We are able to see about 3–4 thousand stars with the naked eye.
Stars are observed with the use of telescopes. The star which is the nearest and most visible from Earth is the Sun. The Moon is the Earth's only natural satellite.
